CAPE OF AFRICA EXPANSION
This $3.9 million Cape of Africa exhibit will further the goal of bringing more African animals to our little slice of Chattanooga. Featuring somewhat lesser-known animals such as Cape porcupine, serval, and warthog these unique exhibits will immerse our guests in a full Africa experience. Here are just a few of the new expansion features:
- Commanding views of the new exhibits from the front entrance of the Zoo.
- Stations for guests to experience up-close animal encounters.
- Areas for interactive education encounters, keeper talks and small group presentations.
- Soothing, peaceful stream meandering through the habitat creating a sense of calm.
- Separate entrance for groups and student field trips further streamlining and enhancing safe entry for all guests.
Following the goals presented in the Zoo’s 2013 master plan, completion of this exhibit will propel the Zoo to new levels as a leading attraction and destination in Chattanooga. It also furthers the Zoo’s conservation and education mission through great engagement with our guests through animal interactions, educational programs, and up-close experiences.
We are grateful for the overwhelming community support that helped us Reach Great Heights – now we look forward to Charging Forward with you!
