If you are a teenager looking for opportunities to engage with animals and conservation, then the Chattanooga Zoo would love to see you participate in our teen programs! From short-term opportunities like job shadowing to longer programs like Zoo Club and volunteering, we have an opportunity for you.

Zoo Club

Zoo Club is a great place to have your teen get involved with conservation while learning about animals! We meet once a month with additional opportunities to get involved.

Each semester we focus on a different conservation topic. We explore how we can positively impact our environment both locally and globally. We also include one

day each semester to focus on zoo careers and how zoos contribute to conservation. Themes range from microhabitats to watersheds to caves and more!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Members must be in Middle School or High School and be able to work independently.
  • High School meets the 2nd Saturday of each month unless otherwise noted.
  • Middle School meets the 4th Saturday of each month unless otherwise noted.
  • We will have two optional after school opportunities each month to allow for interpretation and training for animal ambassador handling.
  • Zoo Club registration is per semester. Spring runs Jan - May and Fall runs Aug - Dec.
  • Registration closes on August 5th or once capacity is reached.

Over this 8-week summer program, Zoo Teens will engage with guests, sharing insights on conservation, biodiversity, and the Animal Kingdom. From animal enrichment to educational interpretation, Zoo Teens develop leadership and teamwork skills, forge lasting friendships, and become passionate wildlife advocates. Join us this summer to be a catalyst for positive change in conservation!
